Gather Farm x AARI

Community Supported Agriculture Program

What is the Community Supported Agriculture Program?

This year, we are excited to announce a partnership between Gather Farm and African Alliance of Rhode Island that’s all about bringing people together through food, culture, and community.

Through our 20-week CSA program, we’ll be growing a diverse range of produce that speaks to the rich cultural heritage of our communities. Click below to receive an in-depth explanation about the program.

Why Joining Our CSA Matters

Preserving Farmland: Since 1940 Rhode Island has lost 80% of its productive agricultural land. Between 1965 and 1990 the town of Johnston lost 55% of its agricultural land. Your membership helps ensure this special piece of farmland – farmed for over a century and one of the closest farms to RI’s urban core – is protected from development.
  1. Supporting Farmers: Community Supported Agriculture provides job security to small scale farmers who are some of our most important community assets and the key to local food security.
  2. Investing in Families: Our CSA membership ensures families have access to nutrient dense foods grown by farmers they know and trust.  Our farm only uses organic growing practices so you can be sure there are no chemicals used on the fruits and vegetables you will be eating.
  3. Growing Community: Joining a CSA is a great way to meet like minded people and to be a part of a community that shares your values of knowing where your food comes from. It’s a chance to be part of something positive that benefits not only you and your family but the greater community as well.
  4. Giving Back: Gather Farm donates produce every week to families struggling with food insecurity in our community. Everyone deserves access to fresh, healthy food and it is our pleasure to give back to those that need help getting it.
